Phillip Island Camp - PRM

At the start of August PRM set off on our camp to Phillip Island, the weather was not the best but everyone was very excited as we were able to complete all our planned activities.

The students had a fantastic first day showing their physical skills on the low ropes course. The students supported each other and worked as a team. The highlights of the day were watching the ‘Penguin Parade’ and Archery.

Day two brought many courageous achievements with all students participating on the giant swing and the flying fox. The students loved the Wildlife Park where they got to hand feed the kangaroos and the other animals.

It was a wonderful experience walking along the boardwalk at the Nobbies and feeling the spray from the huge blow hole which fascinated all the students. Then it was off to A Maze N’ Things where the students loved getting lost in the outdoor maze and mirror maze. They enjoyed challenging themselves in the world of optical illusions, the giant drop and having a game of mini-golf.

It was a fabulous camp with too many highlights to mention. The students were ‘AMAZING’ and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Norman and Renee for helping to make this a camp the students will never forget. -  Rachael McKeown

Football Round Robin

On Thursday the 20th of August a group of 9 students from Upper Primary went to Ford Park to play in the LGA Cup, a football round robin.  We played as part of the St Mary’s grade 5 football team.  The students had a great experience playing on the field with the St Mary’s students and showed a lot of sportsmanship, encouraging each other and playing as part of a team.  It was great to see the fantastic skills all students showed, with Daniel kicking a goal in one game. -  Mel Rofe

Ice Skating Excursion

‘Cool’ took on a whole new meaning as a group of very excited Upper Primary students went on an excursion to the Craigieburn Central Ice Skating Rink. This proved to be an exhilarating experience for all the students as many had never experienced being on the ice before. All the students took the challenges in their stride and had a wonderful time trying out their skills, becoming more and more confident as the morning went on.

Some of the students were able to master standing up on the ice and going for a skate. Many others used the ‘penguin’ supports to have fun on the ice. Even though there were a few trips and spills everyone had a huge smile on their face. It was certainly a very ‘cool’ venture for students and staff alike. - Debbie Jermyn
