Principal's Report

Excitement is building for the Presentation Ball which is to be held this Friday at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre. There will be 222 staff and family members filling the Centre to witness our 26 Year 12 students being presented. This is a very special time for our students and a night that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Check out our school facebook page in the coming weeks for some photos of this spectacular event.

As Jane mentioned in the previous newsletter the Concord Community Connections parent group will be organising a free information forum each term that will be of interest to parents and family members. The first of these evenings will be held next Wednesday, 16th August, from 7-8.30pm in the Discovery Centre at the front of the school. The forum will be on ‘Teenage Sexuality (Feelings, Puberty and Exploration) and Cyber Safety’ and will be presented by Family Planning Victoria. We hope to see you at this event.

Compass Portal

I wrote this in the previous newsletter, but due to its importance I will mention again the need for all parents to be logged into Compass so our school can communicate effectively with you. If you have any questions regarding Compass, or are having difficulty in logging-on, then please ring Karen Jordan at our school on 94673972.

The Compass log-on can be found at https://concordsch-vic.compass.education or through the ‘Compass Parent Portal’ link on our website.

School Uniform Reminder – School Jumper

As Term 3 commences the days are very cold and the students are usually wearing the winter uniform. The vibrant red in the Secondary jumper is particularly noticeable and parents/carers are reminded once again that the school jumper, and not the spray jacket, must be worn first with the formal uniform. Please contact Deb Whiteway in the school office on 94673972 if you require the red (or charcoal for Year 11/12) woollen jumper, spray jacket and/or rugby jumper. Parents/carers whose circumstances may make it difficult to obtain a school uniform are asked to contact Colin Simpson (Assistant Principal) for assistance.

Principal's Award

The principal's award goes to Heazan.

Heazan is most deserving of the Principal’s Award. He is an exceptionally hard working student who strives to do his best every day. He takes on challenging tasks and completes his work to a very high standard. Heazan is cooperative and friendly to all his classmates; he always encourages them to do their best and contribute to class learning. His positive attitude towards his work and school is outstanding.

Heazan always has a ready smile on his face. He enjoys a laugh and often cracks jokes. Heazan is a great role model to others, as he is diligent, generous, thoughtful and humorous.

He is a valued member in the Secondary 7/8 section. Congratulations Heazan!
