Sacrament of Confirmation

On Saturday 23rd March 2019, many of our Year 6 students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The candidates are in their final week of preparation and will this week meet Bishop Terry Curtin our Principal Celebrant and on Friday take part in a Retreat day.

We ask that the school community keep these children in their daily prayers. All families are most welcome to join us in the celebration masses.

Lenten Season

Prayer for the Lenten Season.

Lent is a time when we pray and ask the Lord to help us as we walk on this journey of 40 days leading up to Easter.

Lord, as we journey, may we shine on the world like bright stars, with hearts full of love and compassion for our one human family. Let our prayer, fasting and almsgiving be fruitful signs of your mercy in the world. Amen.

Family Task: Daily Prayer....You may like to write a prayer together with your child that you can use daily.

Project Compassion 2019

Parish, School and Community Bulletin Notices

The Project Compassion story this week has a familiar ring to it. Two weeks ago, we heard the story of Thandolwayo from a dry dusty community in Zimbabwe and the struggle to access a reliable source of clean water. Today we focus on Peter from the Solomon Islands where, surrounded by water, it is proving increasingly difficult to obtain portable drinking water for the local community.

The second story is something of the mercy of God and is echoed in the compelling story of The Purple House from the Western Desert area of Central Australia. The Purple House in Alice Springs provides dialysis and a sense of belonging and welcome for patients from remote areas.

Lives change when we all give 100%. We thank you for your generous donations through the Project Compassion boxes and envelopes. Every little bit helps in some way. Once your box is full please bring it back to school and hand it into the school office.

Sunday of Lent

24th March 2019

Peter is thrilled to now have clean water on tap at his boarding school. Long walks to unsafe water sources were tiring for Peter, who is living with a disability. With more free time and fewer illnesses caused by dirty water, Peter can fulfil his hope of focusing on his studies, providing him with a brighter future.

Please donate to Project Compassion 2019 and help young people with disabilities gain access to clean water in the Solomon Islands, providing hope for a brighter future.

Fourth Sunday of Lent

31st March 2019

Michaela is a 21-year-old trainee at Purple House, a dialysis center in the Central Desert for people suffering from kidney disease. With the support of Caritas partners, Michaela is helping to build a social enterprise, a connection to culture and a new outlook for the chronically ill.

Please donate to Project Compassion 2019 and help provide essential health care, employment and training for First Australians like Michaela.
