Rosie Duffy shortlisted forVCE SEASON OF EXCELLENCE: TOP ARTS

Congratulations to Rosie Duffy whose artwork 'Grace' has been shortlisted for Top Arts. The Top Arts exhibition presents outstanding work by students who have completed Art or Studio Arts studies in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).

Top Arts is an exhibition of photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, film and printmaking produced by VCE Art and VCE Studio Arts students, held at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia.

Letter from Jeanti Exton, Year 9 – currently on exchange in Holland  

Hi Mr Torey,

I am really enjoying myself in Holland. I am in an international class, so I'm learning Dutch with people that have come from Syria, Afghanistan, Turkey, Philippines, Korea, China, and Spain. It is quite a mixture of people, which makes it an amazing experience. Most likely I will stay till July next year, as my Dutch still needs working on and I so enjoy spending time with my Dutch family (although I am missing MGC very much). 

Friends of the Hudad is going very well and the community has started preparations for building the water system. A few of us are going over next week to help. Ethiopia is experiencing another drought, so the water system will hopefully be implemented in time to help the community through this. 

As we need more funds we have started a crowdfunding campaign on Chuffed, a non-for-profit fundraising platform, so 100% of the money raised will go to the project. People can either donate or buy one of 8 beautiful designed Christmas gift cards.  https://chuffed.org/project/the-friends-of-the-hudad.

Dance Night Semester 2

Congratulations to the girls for putting on a fantastic Dance Night Semester 2.  The girls have worked so hard over the semester to present a variety of dance works.  Well done girls and looking forward to another excellent year in 2016.
