Middle School Report

With Term 1 coming to an end, the Middle School team would like to congratulate all the Year 9 and 10 students on a very good start to the year. There have been a number of excursions and activities over the last few weeks, and students have enjoyed a range of extra curricular activities.

During assemblies, students from both Year 9 and Year 10 were spoken to about a number of extra curricular activities that are available, as well as recognising the importance of the National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence.  The importance of respect for one another was discussed, and students who have modelled the school values of Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Excellence and Respect were awarded with certificates in recognition of their behaviours.  Year 10 students who completed the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award in 2017 also received their certificates and badges.

On Tuesday 6 March, a lunch was held for all the students who have joined us this year.  A big thanks to Ms Mana Mohan and the Peer Mentors for their work in organising the lunch and running a forum to collect feedback on how the students have been supported since arriving.

Year 9

ABCN Goals applications will be made available from the start of Term 2 for Year 9 students interested in this opportunity for leadership and mentoring.  Students should see Mr Olthof or Ms Annetts for more information.

Year 10

The Beacon Ambassadors have begun working to prepare for our first Beacon event this year, the Beacon Business Breakfast, which was rearranged to take place on Wednesday 2 May.

Parent Teacher Interviews will take place Wednesday 28 March, and is an excellent opportunity for parents to meet with children and discuss learning progress.

The Middle School Team wish you all the best for a restful Easter holiday break.
