Still have Parent Hours to complete?

If you still have parent hours to complete, the Library would love to have your help. We need people to shelve books either in the morning or in the afternoon for half an hour. If you are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays in Term 3 or Term 4, Library staff would love to hear from you. Please speak to Mrs. Wai Peng Heath or email library@standrews.vic.edu.au.

Middle School Library Classes

Recently, students in Years 5 and 6 have been looking at improving their research skills. The Year 6 students started the term by looking at bibliographies - what they are and how to use an online resource to create one. Harvard Generator was used to practise referencing a book, an internet site, an online image and a newspaper article. Students will be able to use these skills in their projects for other subjects. In later lessons, Year 6 will be looking at plagiarism and copyright.

The Year 5s have discussed mind mapping and been introduced to a variety of examples before creating their own.
