Years 3/4 Camp Highlights

Years 3/4 Go to Camp Rumbug
Charlotte Penfold and Sam Kanellopoulos, Year 4
We had chattering kids all around us, but then the engine stopped … we were finally at Camp Rumbug! We all wondered who was going to be in our cabin and activity group: would they be classmates, close friends or kids we hadn’t even met yet?
Once we finally found out about our cabins, we all rushed towards our rooms to get settled in.
Next it was time for our first activity - the giant swing! As we eagerly walked towards it, we could smell clean, fresh air blowing in our faces. The giant swing went up super high and came down down extremely fast! You should have heard the laughter and screaming! And when we weren’t on the swing, we had to pull a very long rope to lift the swing up high.
Next was the MUD RUN - two pits of freezing cold, leech infested mud. Luckily, a cold shower was waiting for us afterwards, 'urghh!'
In the evening, we headed down to the camp fire. On our way there, we saw two kangaroos. Once we got there, we toasted marshmallows and sang camp fire songs … until it started to rain very heavily! So we had to put out the camp fire.
Throughout the trip, we did a number of fun activities
We also had a camp disco on the trip which was fun. Loud, deafening music filled the room and some really good dance moves were observed!
Finally, it came time to go home. Everyone was sad to leave camp but overjoyed to see their parents again.
