Principal's Report

Learning Specialists

At Staughton, we have a common Teaching and Learning model across the school that we call the ‘Staughton Model’. This evidence based model guides how we continue to improve our teaching and students learning.

We are excited that the recent Victorian Government Schools Agreement has introduced new positions into schools that will strongly support our continued work on improving student achievement.  These positions are known as Learning Specialists.

They will be highly skilled classroom practitioners who continue to spend the majority of their time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning. They will also have a range of responsibilities related to their expertise, including teaching demonstration lessons, observing and providing feedback to other teachers and facilitating school-based professional learning.

The introduction of Learning Specialists is a great opportunity to continue the development of all our teachers in our Staughton Model of Teaching and Learning

Early Dismissal

I would like to remind all students and parents that there is an early dismissal at lunchtime on Friday, the 24th of November. Teachers will be using this time to undergo their annual performance reviews.

Please note the General Office will close for payments for 2017 on Wednesday, the 20th of December at 1.30 pm. The General Office will be closed on Thursday, the 21st, and Friday, the 22nd of December

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
