Book Club Excursion
Jane Viner, Head of Library Resource Services
During the term, the Junior School Book Club and the Senior School Book Club combined for a fun excursion to the local bookstore.
Students travelled by train both ways and enjoyed the opportunity to browse the bookstore and select books for the Library. Some students made their own purchases and were delighted to use their money to select a book of their choice.
We also had an enjoyable afternoon tea of hot chocolate at a local café before our short journey back to Kilvington.
Thank you to Hugo Della Bosca, Library Leader, and Sebastian Keet, Digital Leader, for their leadership on the day. Thanks also to Mrs Laura Tough for her assistance on the excursion. Plans are underway for another combined Book Club excursion early in Term 4.
Storytelling Sessions
Students, parents and staff enjoyed reading to ELC and Junior School classes during August to celebrate Reading and Book Week 2017.
Since this was a popular event, we will be running another session of storytelling next year during Kilvington Reads in May 2018.
Thank you to all the 'storytellers' for your time, effort and participation in this reading celebration!
Book Week 2017
Quotes on curiosity inspired Senior School students and Tutor Groups to participate in a competition for Book Week 2017.
Congratulations to the daily Senior School winners who enjoyed a chocolate frog, and to Tutor Groups LBA1, LFE7 and SFY2.
Well done to Sophi Gardiner (Year 7), Lily Wallis (Year 8), Caitlin Johnston (Year 8), Cassidy Lyovic (Year 9) and Isabella de Vries (Year 10) for their five correct answers for the week. These students were awarded a book voucher prize.

Participating students need to enter their titles of books read to their online account. The number to beat is 100 books! (this is the number that has been read by Alessia Di Felice from Year 4).
