Year 7 Japanese class celebration

One of the many highlights of a languages class is the exciting opportunity to taste cultural products! However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, and not being able to share food, the Year 7 Japanese class had a lot of fun making miniature polymer clay sushi to celebrate the end of 2020.

A very big thank you to Mrs Guyton for organising such a fun hands-on activity with her Year 7 class.

Year 7 French end-of-year cultural activities

Students played a traditional game of Pétanque, which consists of throwing heavy metallic balls to get as close as possible to the small wooden ball called 'cochonnet'.

Students also enjoyed making miniature plasticine 'bûche de Noël' cakes, which are the traditional Christmas cake eaten in France - here's the recipe - enjoy!

Thank you to Mme Mullins, Mme Paulin and Mr Troitzky-Pelletier for offering these cultural activities.

Madame Mullins celebrated the Prep students and their progress in French with a wonderful display in the Junior School corridor. The unit on 'all about me' was a lot of fun!

Can you guess which one is which? Mr Happy? Mr Big? Mr Smart? Mr Funny?

Year 4 French

Madame Mullins also took her Year 4 French classes on a virtual holiday and asked them to write postcards in French from these wonderful destinations. These postcards are displayed in the Middle School corridor.

Year 5 French

Thank you to Madame Paulin for introducing her Year 5 French classes to the wonderful work of Vincent Van Gogh, who spent most of his life in the city of Arles in the south of France. Most of his paintings depict French countryside and villages. Year 5 students were asked to select one of his artwork and describe it in French.
