i Sea i Care marine ambassador training

On Tuesday the 7th of June SPS hosted marine ambassadors from 5 different schools to undertake training on how to teach other students about marine conservation. Mandy and Chris from the Dolphin Research Institute ran the day and taught the students some great tips on how to present their lesson about marine animals and the need to reduce plastic pollution in our oceans. Our SPS marine ambassadors did a marvelous job, not only as hosts, but also in the training and then the teaching of what they learned to the very interested 2R and FG students! Our marine ambassadors will head off to various schools in Term 3 and Term 4 to teach other students about the importance of our oceans and marine conservation.

Sticky situation-

Chloe, Charlotte and Phoebe found themselves in a sticky situation when they found the largest stick insect I’ve seen in a long time. Stick insects usually like tropical and warm environments so the last weeks bitterly cold and wet Mebourne weather would have been a shock for the insect.
