Stage 1 Science

 In Science this term, students in Stage 1 have been investigating the ‘Physical World’ focusing on forces and energy.  We have explored how stationary objects are subjected to pushes and pulls. We have investigated how you can have fun with forces and tested racing cars to  investigate how the different strengths of pushes and pulls can affect the movement of objects. We also explored the concept of gravity  and considered the effects of objects being pulled towards the Earth. 

In our design task,we then used what we had learnt about ‘forces’(push and pull) to design and create an ‘Arcade type’ game that involved the use of a push or pull force or both.  Here are some of our ‘Arcade games’:

Stage 1 Drama

In Stage 1 Creative Arts (Drama) this term we have focused on the dramatic art form of puppets.  We created both ‘paper bag’ puppets and ‘paper plate puppets’.  We used our puppets to practise developing a ‘character’ and using our voices in an expressive way to show different emotions and moods for our character.  Here are some photos of our ‘puppets’:
