Reflections on Faith

Sacrament of Reconciliation:

Next term we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation for our Year 2 students (and anyone else who has not received this Sacrament yet). In preparation for this Sacrament, there will be a parent information night in the Church at 5:30pm with Father Gleeson on the 19th October (Wednesday Week 2, Term 4). Many parents have returned a student enrolment form for this Sacrament. To complete this Sacrament, students will be asked to complete a work booklet at home with their parents (learning supported in the class RE lessons). These work booklets are $15, which also covers the cost of the gift from the Parish to candidates upon completion. The Sacrament will be held on the evening of the 30th November.

Stage 2 Learning in Religion:

This term, Stage 2 have been learning how to be 'One with God's Creation', learning about how  we are all created in the image of God and are called to live in harmony with our world. Students have developed a deeper understanding of God as creator, and appreciate that creation is good.  Stage 2 have been exploring how we are called to be one with each other and the earth community, developing an understanding of our responsibility to care for God’s creation.

This is Harriet Van Der Waal's response to her learning:

God’s creation

Earth without people, kingdoms without kings

Life without death, white without black

Day without night, light without dark

Young without old, hot without cold

Truth without false, fly without fall

rain without dry, earth without sky.

Would not be the earth that god created.

Stage 3 Learning in Religion:

Stage 3 have been exploring the story of the Catholic Church in Australia.

They have focused on key events and people that have shaped the identity and growth of the Catholic Church in Australia. They have also identified how the Church is organised and what it does in Australia today.

In response to the key events and people who shaped Australia in the early years, Stage 3 listened to the song "We are Australian" and illustrated key groups and people who have helped to shape Australia through history.
