Sports@BSC

As we enter the second half of the school year, school sport is thriving at BSC. If there are any questions, please see Sam Poynton.

Athletics Carnival

What a day!

After so many COVID cancellations for all school carnivals over the past few years, it was wonderful to finally get the athletics carnival up and running. The weather put on a show and so did a number of our students. The athletic ability of our school is outstanding, with some exceptional results. The results and school representative team will be posted on Compass shortly.

(more photos will be on our web page soon)

As the Sport Coordinator, I would really like to thank the school community and particularly Renee Barry for making the day such a success. We have set the bar very high for any future sport carnivals, and I look forward to seeing them play out.

Inter-school Sport

This term kicks off with Basketball, Hockey and Table Tennis for inter-school sport. The sign ups are on Compass and thriving. Due to the large number of students wanting to participate in some sports, trials will be held to put together the school team. These will be held at lunch times in the BARC, please stay tuned for trial dates.

Lunchtime Activities

GippSport: Our links with GippSport are strengthening as the program develops. We have a selected group of senior boys that are working in conjunction with GippSport to ensure that the program for kids is driven by kids.

  • Year 7 and 8 students are invited to participate Friday lunch times.
  • Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students are invited to participate Thursday lunch times.

Congratulations: Ryan Cullinan

Team Vic AFL made their team announcements earlier this month, and it comes as no surprise that the super star Ryan Cullinan has made the U15’s team for the SSA Nationals Championships. Congratulations to Ryan, and good luck at the tournament. We cannot wait to see what you achieve!

Reminders – BARC, Compass Permissions

The online permission system through the Compass portal is working very well so far. All sport events that require parent/carer permission will be submitted through Compass. Parents/Carers will be notified that their child has been selected into a sport, and to then follow the prompts to complete the permission under ‘event invites’. If students require a paper copy of the permissions, they can see their respective Hub.

For any questions about school sport, please see Sam Poynton or Renee Barry.
