Principal's Report

As our first full semester of learning since 2019 concludes it is a great opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the achievements of our students.

Today, Semester 1 Reports were published.  They provide a snapshot of their learning progress and habits towards learning.  This report, in addition to the information on Compass Learning Tasks, provides an informative summary of each student’s progress this year.  During the holiday break we encourage all students and parents to reflect on their achievements and set some goals for next term.  Students should be focusing on their learning habits and some things they can do to enhance their learning growth.  For example, it may be something to do with their personal organisation or completing all homework tasks on time.  For some others it might be identifying behaviours in the classroom that they can focus on such as asking the teacher more questions or sitting in a different location.  Whatever the goal for improvement, we encourage students to write it down and share it with their parents and teachers.  This will increase the likelihood of achieving it.

Year 12 Central Australia Camp

On Friday June 17, 68 excited students and 9 teachers set off on a long-awaited Central Australia tour.  After cancelling and postponing all interstate trips in 2020 and 2021 there was much anticipation for this trip.  As this article is being written, the students are in Alice Springs after visiting Coober Pedy, Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon.  Over the next week they will enjoy Katherine, Daly Waters, Kakadu and Darwin and in the process make memories that will last a lifetime!  The camp is due to return during the holidays on Friday July 1.

I would like to thank the teachers and staff involved in organising and leading this camp.  It has been a big effort and commitment of their time on weekends and during their personal holidays.  Thank you!

Music Gala

The end of semester Music Gala was simply amazing. The students demonstrated their wonderful talents on stage to a packed hall full of friends and family. It truly was wonderful to see our community back together to enjoy and acknowledge the musical talents of our students. I would like to thank Lauren Davine and all the Music teachers for their efforts organising the event and most importantly their hard work teaching our students.  Well done.
