News from 8D

Throughout the two terms that our class has been together, we have been able to experience what Year 8 is all about.

From preforming in front of each other in drama class to participating in Challenge Week as a class, we have become closer and enjoy working alongside each other.

During semester one, our class has been able to experience some of the amazing things the school has to offer, such as Challenge Week.

On day two of this week our class was split up into groups of six and we were able to find our way out of a chilling escape room. While all the activities really got us to work together, the escape room really had a good impact on our class’s bond. We were able to listen to each other’s ideas and collaborate. This was fun, and it also gave us the opportunity to see what our classmates had in common with us.

Another awesome activity was tree top climbing. We were able to get harnessed up and complete an obstacle course several metres high in the air.

This was a challenge however it made some of us realise how supportive our classmates were. This was good to see how we could be there for each other in times of challenge.

Overall, I think these experiences have brought our class closer together.

Although we had an amazing time during Challenge Week, some everyday things that our class has enjoyed would be our P.E and Drama Classes!

8D has been able to dress up and present a play to another year eight class. Although the confidence levels were different throughout the class, we all really enjoyed getting to dress up and put on a play.

More recently, P.E our class has been completing a dance unit. We get to just dance or make human pyramids and it has really had a positive impact on our connection as a class.

2022 has been a wonderfully exiting year for 8D and we can’t wait for fun of semester 2.
