Easter Hat Parade

Students need to make their Easter Hats at home to wear on Thursday the 7th of April. They can be as simple or decorative as you like.

Plan for Thursday - Mufti Day. Gold coin donation for Project Compassion.

Parents are invited to view the art show from 2pm in the library, then collect hot cross bun orders, followed by the hat parade at 2.30pm and then enjoy the drawing of the Easter Raffle. We look forward to welcoming you all to school to enjoy the festivities.  Please remember to sign in and out at the front desk using the electronic kiosk.

Compass Events

If your child is not attending an event you can now decline the event in Compass.  This helps us to know who is attending and who is not.  For anyone having issues with the Cross Country notes, it may well be that the problem is they are now overdue.  Notes and payments need to be made on time to allow for processing.

Student Absences

It is a legal requirement that all absences from school be explained.  You can do this through the Compass portal within 7 days of the absence.  I have been sending home printed notes each Friday for parents to sign and return to school however most of them have failed to come back to school. If you do have these notes at home please return them this week or it will be too late to explain them in the system and they will remain unexplained on your child's record permanently.

Compass Suggestions

  • If you are having difficulty accessing absentees etc please make sure you 'Open in Browser' which can be found in the drop down menu on the left hand side of your screen under the 3 horizontal lines.
  • If you are still having difficulty, uninstall the app and reinstall it making sure your 'location' is on so that you can find St Joseph's Quirindi
  • Failing this, please call the office and we will put our IT team on the job to make sure you have access at all times.

Compass Pay is here!   CompassPay is our payment and billing management system.

Please find all the information you need to sign up for Compass Pay in the link below. Using Compass Pay means you can give permission and pay for all sorts of events, excursions and sporting days in one place in Compass.  This has taken over from Qkr! for sport events and excursions.

School Fees

This term's fees were due by Thursday, 31st March, 2022.  Thank you to all who have already paid and also to those who maintain regular payments.  If you haven't paid please try and clear your account by the end of this term, thank you.  Payment options for school fees are still the same and include: via the Qkr App; EFT (payment made direct to the school's bank account); CentrePay and ADIG Direct Debit (all details are on your statement).  The Qkr App will be used for school fees until our financial system is upgraded and then it will change over to CompassPay.  If anyone is experiencing difficulties managing their school fees please ring and make an appointment to see Pauline and myself.

The Coolamon Challenge

Congratulations toLottie who won last week's infants challenge. Here are the answers:

Primary - What can you place between 5 and 6 to make the outcome bigger than 5, but less than 6?   A:  A decimal point (which makes 5.6)

Infants -  I am first in Earth and second in heaven. I appear two times in a week. You can only see me once in a year, although you can find me in the middle of sea. What am I?   A: The letter 'e'.

This week's challenge is another scavengar hunt - an Easter themed hunt! Hidden around the school are 5 Easter eggs. Infants students will need to find at least one egg to enter and write the egg's location on an entry form. For our primary students, each egg contains a letter. Students must find all five eggs, and use the given letters to make a five letter word. This word is what students must put on their entry form. Have fun and good luck!
