Year 3/4 News
Writing
Over the last few weeks, the students have been focusing on identifying how illustrations, graphics, posters and advertisements help persuade the reader on a topic.
The students have really been enjoying analysing different advertisements, posters and slogans. They are learning to use different persuasive language and identifying it in examples.
Religion/ Wellbeing
Last fortnight, students explored the Bible, discussing the Old and New Testament scripture texts. They interpreted the roles of some major characters from the Bible texts:
- Noah's Ark
- David and Goliath
- Parting of the Red Sea
Students identified who the main character was and the role that God had given to them. They identified the important characteristics needed to develop who we are and how we are seen by others. Students identified their own personal qualities, strengths and values through the personal values mirror activity. Links were made between personal strengths to known characters in the Bible, i.e. Noah, David and Moses.
