Year 1/2 News
Stewards of Creation
Year 1/2 have been exploring the meaning of stewardship and how it relates to God. A steward is someone who has been asked to look after or care for something. We have discussed ways we can be stewards of our world in our everyday lives.
During our Religion lesson this week students worked in small groups to discuss where they feel God in nature. Have a look at their thinking below -
How much do you know about time?
Year 1 have been learning about duration of time, discussing things that can be done within a certain time frame, for example we can watch a movie in 1-2 hours. It has been great to relate real life experience to this challenging concept. Check out some work samples below -
Year 2 have been focusing on months of the year, seasons and the days in each month. Students have loved learning how many days the month of their birthday has. Ask your child to sing the months of the year song to you!
As always, please continue to work with your child at home on concepts being taught in Mathematics. Having conversations about the time and how long things take us to do each day is essential in student learning (and they love it!)
