Preston District Cross Country

Forty Nine St Raphael's students headed over to Bundoora Park for the Preston District Schools Sports Association Cross Country. There was a hint of rain around for the morning and we were the envy of the district as we erected our large marquee for the students to gather under. It soon came in handy as the rain began to sprinkle down.

The students carried on unperturbed by the weather and put in some outstanding efforts. Erika Puccio put in the run of the day finishing 9th in the Under 11 girls after qualifying 7th at the school trials. This goes to show that if you turn up and give your best effort on the day anything can happen. A special mention to Aidan Gauci who won the 11 Boys race and Marc Capetola who came a very narrow second in the 12/13 Boys event. Congratulations all the students who represented the school so proudly. Best of luck to the following students who will go on and compete in the Darebin Division Cross Country on June 1 back at Bundoora Park-
