Division and Region Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to Tri Tran (Yr 8), Nathan Mu (Yr 11) and the 12-13 age group boys 4x50m Freestyle relay team that all won events at the Darebin Division Swimming Carnival at Fitzroy Pool on Friday March 18.

Tri Tran then went on to compete in the 50m Breaststroke race at the North Metro Region Swimming Carnival at WaterMarc, swimming a very strong race against quality opposition.

Volleyball

Well done to all our teams that participated in the various division volleyball events.

Special mention to the Year 8 girls team and Year 9/10 girls team, who won their respective events.

The Year 9/10 girls team then performed well at the region finals, winning all the pool matches, before finishing as runners up to a strong Eltham College team in the overall final.

The Year 8 girls team are scheduled to play their region finals early in term 4.

Tennis

Thank you to all the students that participated in tennis at the Lakeview Tennis Club. This involved a combination of doubles and singles matches on the clay courts. Plenty of skill and enthusiasm was displayed by every one of our teams involved.

STAFF v STUDENTS BASKETBALL GAME

A large and boisterous crowd turned out for the eagerly anticipated annual Staff v Students Basketball game in the last week of term 1.

It was a fierce contest from the start, as both teams knew bragging rights were on the line for the eventual winner.

It was a tight contest on the scoreboard for the majority of the game, with the students then extending their lead late in the game, to finish as winners by 8 points.

Well done to everyone involved. Thank you to the student Sports Committee for their involvement in planning and promoting the game.

The staff team now has extra motivation for the term 2 sports!
