Sports Day
Towards the end of last term, all of the Sacred Heart school students competed in the Sports Day where all four of the houses did incredibly well. The day started with the long distance races, then during the middle block it was the tabloid events. The day ended with the sprint races. There were the championship races after the sprints and the winners were: from the boys race - Oliver Robinson and from the girls race - Thea Tsekouras.
Well done to all of the students who won races and participated in the day. Congratulations to Blue House who won the Sports Day and to Silver House who won the Team Spirit award.
Thank you to the Year 2 parents who ran the sausage sizzle which was greatly appreciated. A huge thank you to all the teachers for setting up and packing up on the day and a very special thanks to Mr O’Shea for coordinating the whole day.

ANZAC DAY Commemoration
On Tuesday we commemorated Anzac Day as a whole school out on the oval at our Sacred Heart Kew School Cenotaph. Thanks to Mr Millane, Miss Biggs and the Year 5 children for leading us in this extremely moving commemoration.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
LEST WE FORGET

New Safety Padding on our Goal Posts
The holidays brought us many things, one of these being our fabulous new safety pads finally arriving and now they sit comfortably around our new Goal Posts out on our oval. Check them out below. The ones out on the Junior Playground Poles look just as good!
Walk-A-Thon
Sacred Heart will be holding its annual Walk-A-Thon in support of Catholic Care next Friday 6 of May. Students will be able to raise money by walking laps of the immediate school block, supervised by staff and without crossing any roads. All money raised will go directly to support Catholic Care in advance of Catholic Family Week 9-15 May.
Students will be walking in the hour between 11.30am and 12.30pm and families are welcome to come along and support the children.
Families or friends are encouraged to donate in support of this important charity and we invite you to please fill out the form that was sent home this week and return it to your child’s classroom teacher together with any sponsorship amount as soon as possible.
Students need to wear their Sport Uniform on the day.
2023 Prep Interviews
This week we began our Prep Interviews for 2023. It has been wonderful to chat with the younger children and parents of our current students and also chat with many new families that may join us at Sacred Heart Kew next year. Interviews continue next week. Please keep spreading the word to any families who may be looking to enrol their child at our school. We look forward to healthy Prep numbers again next year.
