Fourth week of Lent: Laetare Sunday

Half way there....!

The Fourth Sunday in Lent marks the midway point toward Easter. Also known as Laetare Sunday, it is often seen as an opportunity to 'rejoice' and an opportunity to express our hope and joy in the midst of Lent.

Even though we are going toward a darker time with Holy Thursday and Good Friday, the Fourth Sunday in Lent is an opportunity to savor and keep in the back of our minds what awaits us on Easter Sunday — the reality that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, and that our hearts will always be filled with joy!

The story for this week is the 'Prodical Son', a story of hope.

A Prayer for the Fourth Week of Lent

Gracious God, you are like a loving father to us.

Your love is constant and you are always with us,

even when we turn our faces from you.

When our anger or frustration tries to take us in the wrong direction,

help us to turn to you,

confident that you will always listen.

We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Kind regards,
