Parents and Friends Community News

We thought we would kick off term two by forgetting the kids and making it about the lovely ladies.

Kicking off with our much awaited Mother’s Day Fundraising Lunch at Ripponlea Estate this Friday 6 May. There is a real buzz in the air about the event and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all.  For those of you unable to make it to lunch, why not handball the kids and join us in the private room at the Half Moon Hotel on Church Street from 3.15pm onwards.

Plus, by the time you read this your child/children have hopefully purchased one of the amazing gifts from the Mother’s Day stall to give you this Sunday. Thanks to the brilliant team of Hydie Abouskhroun and Amber Sarda for organising and delivering the whole thing, our parent volunteers for helping out in the day and to our local businesses for supporting our school.

Next gig for us is the Election Day BBQ on Saturday 21 May. PFC doesn't need much encouragement to fire up the barbie’s and get sizzling. We’ll be offering sausages in bread and egg and bacon rolls to our long line of voters. Grounds Cafe will be open for drinks and something delicious to follow. BUT….. we can’t do it all day without your help, so please look out for the volunteer sign up in the post to come out shortly. This is another great way to raise funds for the school and have a good giggle and a yarn with other parents to boot.

Given everything going on this May, we decided to reschedule the annual Lapathon to term three - Thursday 8 September. Plenty of time to get your kids in training so they can run like Mo Farah!!

Finally, congratulations to Asaki Kato (OC) and family who won the Easter Raffle Staycation hamper and Billy Mason (3A) whose family won the Brighton Chocolates hamper. And of course the great Egg in Jar competition which was fiercely fought but only had one right guess.  Well done Alex McMaster in 3A for his 121 egg guess.

.

We hope you all enjoyed the goodies. A very special thanks to our wonderful sponsors - Quest, Brighton on the Bay and Brighton Chocolates for their kind donations and for always supporting our school.

See you in two weeks.
