Congratulations to all participants in the Year 8 Comedy Cup

Year 8 Comedy Cup

The Fr James O’Doherty Performing Arts Centre became a “comedy hub” in the first week back of this term, and the sounds of laughter could be heard all the way to the front gates as the Year 8 students gathered for the 2018 Year 8 Comedy Cup.  The event was the culmination of a unit of work which required students to learn how to compose and deliver a humorous anecdote, and then the top students in each class were selected to compete for the King of Comedy crown.

Embracing the mantra “never let the truth get in the way of a good story”, the boys kept their audience in stitches with entertaining tales of problems with the “parentals”, camp catastrophes and the troublesome teenage years.  MCs Antony Macolino and Sebastian Deluca also helped to keep the laughs coming with their quick wit, playful banter and impromptu dance competitions.

Congratulations to all participants including Daniel Heath, Joseph Haskey, Alan Banh, Siosifa Afungia, Jai Harte, Morris Pilkington, Brandon Tran, and our winner Declan Hillman (pictured below).
