Year 12 Captains’ Lunch

On August 28 the Year 12 Captains’ Lunch was held to celebrate the final leg of the school journey for the Class of 2019. All Year 12 VCE and VCAL students gathered for a lunch of pizza and a motivational speech from our guest Abdi Aden. Abdi spoke about his incredible life story which began by fleeing war-torn Somalia and arriving in Melbourne alone at sixteen years old. Since then he has gone on to work as a youth worker, appear on different TV programs including SBS’s Go Back to Where You Came From, and become an author of multiple books. His speech inspired our students to have confidence in themselves and be persistent in the face of the greatest adversity.

I wish the best of luck to all of our Year 12 students as they rapidly approach the end of their time with us.
