The MAS National Careers Trailer

Students who have decided on an Applied Learning pathway were given the opportunity to participate in The MAS Experience.

Team Leader, Steve Roberts, came to our school to speak directly with the future Applied Learning students to give them information about SBATs, Apprenticeships, courses and other work and careers related resources.

Students were also able to gain some hands-on experience with fixing leaking taps and changing door handles – skills that they may one day require in the “real world.”

Year 9 Commerce

Market Stalls

As a part of the Year 9 Commerce course students have to form teams and develop a business product to sell at lunchtime stalls over a period of one week. The assignment involves teamwork, marketing strategies and organisation skills. In the formed groups the students have to brainstorm and form a full business plan based on a product or service with advertisements. For example, our team decided to sell a range of delicious popcorn and cans of soft drink. So far the experience has been fantastic. We have enjoyed working together cooperatively to form a fun and engaging business experience.
