Regional Cross Country

On Thursday 20 June, Kiara M (6B) competed in the Regional Cross Country at Hastings. In super cold (8 degrees!) and super wet conditions for the entire race, Kiara ran a strong 6th position - a FANTASTIC result! Our little 'pocket rocket' now qualifies for the State Championship to be held in Bundoora on 18 July - we are so proud of her!

Year 6 Girls AFL Gala Day

On Tuesday (18 June), 30 Year 6 girls played a footy round robin in Sandringham. There were 2 teams and there were 15 girls in each team. We were in Mr Mac’s team.

We won the first game against Sandringham. The second game we played, we won, against Sandringham East. The third game we lost against Brighton Beach but the scores were very close.

We were very lucky to be able to go through to the semi-finals where we played against Brighton. We were so excited when we won that game as we got through to the grand finals against Brighton Beach again.

Unfortunately we lost the grand finals in the crazy, stormy, wet weather but we had an awesome game! We came second, which meant we get to go through to division. We are all so excited!

Addy B (6B), Issy F (6C) and Tash C (6D)

On Tuesday the 18th of June, 30 girls from Year 6 participated in an inter school footy gala day. There were 2 teams – we (Roma and Edie) were in Mr Arnold’s team. We played 3 matches, and each one was 26 minutes long (13 minute halves). The teams we played were Beaumaris Primary, and then we played 2 Hampton Primary teams. The weather conditions were proper footy conditions – very cold, windy, but luckily there wasn’t too much rain. We lost all our games, but we played really well and the games were close.

Roma - My favourite part of the day was kicking in a match for the first time. I was excited because it was my first time playing footy in a competition.

Edie - My favourite part was kicking a goal then celebrating the moment. It was a great day. Everyone tried their best and really enjoyed it. Thanks to Mr Mac and Mr Arnold for the early morning training sessions and coaching us.
