Thank you and congratulations to our new parent School Council members; Kerri-Anne Bourke, Dean Rowley and Naga V Ramana Malasani and to our new staff members; Julie Nixon (returning once again), Chloe Murphy and Luke Poyser. We appreciate the time and energy these people are willing to commit to our community. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) followed by our first 2020 School Council meeting will be held on Tuesday March 24. Thank you once again.

Plenty Parklands Primary will once again be participating in the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence, Friday week March 20. All our students will be involved in activities to further reinforce the message of Taking Action Together to stop bullying. It is never too early to talk to your child/children about keeping themselves safe and having an adult they can talk to if they feel worried, sad or threatened. We owe it to our kids to help them build the skills to know how to identify, prevent and report bullying.

Proud Principal, student and community moment. Congratulations to our year 5 & 6 students who participated in the sports program at Epping Leisure Centre last Friday. I received a phone call from a worker who was providing support for a couple of adults with both intellectual and physical disabilities.  Some of our students had finished their game and started watching these young people having a go at basketball. The kids then started cheering and calling out words of encouragement and support …”you can do it”, “good try, have another go”, “go for it”, providing these people with their own personal cheer squad. This prompted the call to me to express how lovely our kids were and to let me know that the young man had been so excited and that it had made his day. I have shared this wonderful feedback with the students and teachers who attended the Leisure Center. As it turned out, the caller is a past parent of PPPS and she was so proud that the values of the school are still so strong and that our kids are still such great ambassadors for our school and for young people overall.

Looking forward to seeing everyone enjoying themselves and living by the values tonight.
