Instrumental Music

This year we have seen an influx of almost 100 new instrumental students and have welcomed three additional instrumental teachers to help us accommodate everyone! We would like to welcome Matthew Chandler - Brass, Yasmin Lancini - Vocal, and Katie Bjorem - Piano, to our team. If you would like to start lessons in Trumpet, Trombone, Piano or Rock School Vocal with our new teachers please email Mrs Baker ebaker@cns.catholic.edu.au for an enrolment form.

Music Ensemble Camp

Our Instrumental Music and Choir students spent a long weekend at Genazzano, Tinaroo from 28th Feb-1st March learning new material and bonding as a group. The staff and students had a wonderful time and accomplished a lot in preparation for upcoming eisteddfods and performances. Thank you to all the students for your outstanding behaviour, to our senior students who planned and ran all the extra curricular activities, and to all the accompanying teachers for giving your time so the children have these wonderful opportunities to learn and make wonderful memories.

SHEP

'State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) In partnership with schools across Queensland, the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) connects the finest young musicians with a team of eminent international and national conductors in a pursuit of musical excellence'.

St Mary's hosted SHEP 2020 at the College last week 6-8th March, thank you to Mrs Baker for coordinating this event which brought together hundreds of students from as far as Bowen travelling for here for the occasion.
