From the Head of Campus'  Desk

Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome to Term 4 of 2018! It feels a bit strange saying this as the year doesn’t seem to be three-quarters of the way through, it has gone quickly.

Next week marks the final lessons for the current Year 12 group, with their final assembly taking place on Tuesday morning. This assembly is always a really special and moving one that I would encourage all parents to come along to, whether your child is in Year 12 or not. It is at this assembly that we honour and acknowledge the students in the 'Class of 2018', for the special contribution they have made to our school, and we hear from several of them as they share some reflections on their journey through Heatherton. A special time in the assembly is when the Year 12s receive a handmade card from their Prep 'buddy', someone they have spent time with through the year.

We look forward to this assembly and our chance to say goodbye to this fine group of young women and men, though they will be back for their final exams, beginning with the English exam on Wednesday 31st of October. We do wish them well and pray for Gods strength, peace and blessing on them for this final part of their Heatherton journey.

These first few weeks of term contain a number of activities and programs that showcase some of the breadth of things that make Heatherton a special, busy, and productive place. These activities include farewelling the Year 12s and their Valedictory dinner, sending off the Grade 3s and 4s on their camp, the Year 9s undertaking their 100km Bike ride as part of their 'Year of Challenge', the whole school missions fundraiser for 'Destiny Rescue' (where we raised a fantastic amount of over $2000), the 2019 Prep information evening and orientation day (our future 'Class of 2031'), the upcoming Spring Music concert and the, 'Heatherton Creates', arts display and festival, to name but some of the events taking place, along with lots of good learning happening in the classrooms!

We look forward seeing you at some of our events this term!
