CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

Year of Youth Cross
Next week we will host the Year of Youth Cross, an icon which is making a pilgrimage across our diocese, visiting all our catholic parishes and schools as a focus for prayer, discussion and reflection on the Year of Youth in local school communities.
The Year of Youth Cross reflects the rural context of the Diocese of Armidale. The Cross was designed and made by Frank Patricks, a teacher from McCarthy Catholic College in Tamworth and took in excess of 140 hours to complete. Frank has incorporated many symbols into the design of the cross, with the understanding that different aspects of the cross will speak to those who view it and reflect upon it. Frank designed the cross to highlight how our love of the bush can reflect our journey in faith and is a celebration of the beauty of God’s creation.
The cross will be displayed at Sacred Heart Church this weekend, before being brought to Holy Trinity and set up in the PAC room, which will become a prayer space for the week. Each class will have a session to visit, learn about and pray with the YOY cross in the coming week.
3/4C Mass
This week 3/4C will be hosting mass for the Primary department. It is All Souls Day, a day when the church prays for all the 'faithful departed' - that is, all christians who have died.
Prayer Celebrations
This week year 8 will be receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation. This is held in the AV room on Thursday morning.
Our assembly prayers will be led by 1/2W in the Infants, and 9G in the Secondary.
