SAPSASA Western District Day

On Tuesday 11th September, 43 of our Year 4 to 7 students attended the Airport and Western District Day held at Henley Athletics Oval. It was a windy, rainy day but this did not deter our athletes, who had been chosen to represent Grange from times and distances recorded at our Sports Day held the previous Friday.

We are pleased and proud to announce that Grange Primary School, for the second year running, was awarded with the 1st place trophy for Large Schools - Western District. Congratulations to all who participated. As a result, we will have a record breaking 21 students representing our school at SAPSASA State Day to be held next Tuesday at SANTOS Stadium.

We would like to thank the teachers and parents who helped to record times and distances on Sports Day, to the parents who transported our students to district day because of the inclement weather and in particular to Wade Ball and Nick Warren for the time and effort required to make such a day happen.

We wish our athletes all the best at State Day and GO GRANGE!!!!

Congratulations

The school would like to congratulate our Year 6/7 coach, David Penberthy, on being awarded the Woodville West Torrens SANFL Schools Coach of the Year.

It is a credit to David and his approach and attitude to all players, coaches and umpires in the competition to have won this award.

Congratulations again David from all the Grange Primary School Football Community.

Season Wrap

The 2018 season of school football finished on Saturday 25th August with our last game being played that morning followed by presentations and a celebration of the season in the school hall.

It was a very competitive year for both of our teams with the obvious highlight being the Year 6/7 team winning the lightning carnival.

Of course we are not able to participate in the competition without parent support. We thank Shane Brow and Kane Godlevsky for helping with the Year 4/5 team and say thank you and goodbye to David Penberthy, Stuart Ramsay and Paul Hopkins for their contributions over the past 3 years with the Year 6/7 team. Thanks also to all the parents that helped out with various roles on game days. A special thanks to Rebecca Godlevsky for her work behind the scenes and with the BBQ/Canteen at our home games.

We would like to wish all players that are moving on to high school the best and hope to see the rest of you as well as some new faces next year.

I have been involved with school football now for 12 years, the last 6 as coordinator, and as my youngest child is in year 7 next year, I am stepping aside as co-ordinator. The school is therefore looking for someone to take on this role for 2019 and beyond. I will be able to support and help with the handover during the year for anyone who is interested. I have found the role rewarding role over the years so if you enjoy the  great game of Australian Rules Football and would like to opportunity to support your school, please contact myself or Nick Warren if you would like more information.

Regards

Nick Godlevsky
