This Week in the Library

While this week in the library is a quieter time than usual with many classes away on excursions, it’s starting to get a little merry as we begin to read the new Christmas books that have recently arrived.

One particularly beautiful book is 'Sarah's Two Nativities' by Janine Fraser. This book tells the story of a young child who is fortunate to spend time with both sets of her grandparents. Her father's parents are Ali and Azar, and her mother's parents are Maria and Paul. From her grandparents, Sarah hears the story of the nativity, the birth of the baby Jesus, from two different perspectives. When Sarah asks questions and considers the answers she receives, she is reminded that both are about 'the mystery of God' and realises that her family, living together and peacefully, is of great importance (Kids' Book Review).

Kindergarten is enjoying another traditional retelling of the nativity, 'The First Christmas' with stunning illustrations by Jess Racklyeft and learning about the significance of Jesus to Christmas (and that it's not all about the presents, despite loving them!). 

And finally, we found this older Christmas book on the shelf and realised it was as important now as when it was written; 'All I Want for Christmas is Rain'  by Cori Brooke.

Break Times in the Library

With the weather heating up, the library's air conditioning is proving to be a lure for the snack time crew. Check out the slo-mo Jenga towers!

Final Week of Borrowing - Week 8

Next week (week 8), is the final week for borrowing and ALL LIBRARY BOOKS MUST BE RETURNED BY FRIDAY, 6 December, 2019. I will be sending overdue notices home next week but if you cannot find your child’s books, please let me know ASAP on library@holytrinity.nsw.edu.au to avoid a replacement invoice. I thank you for your support in getting these back by next Friday.
