Dance Night

The Dance Evenings at Patterson River Secondary College are always a wonderful end to the semester. Our talented students put on a night to remember as they dazzled our stage with a variety of group and solo performances. This semester, we saw our VCE students present their solo and group choreographed work, the Year 10’s learnt dance works, numbers from The Year 8 Risings Star Elective, a number of self-devised performances, and introduced ‘Dance Extensions’ organised by Year 12s.

Mrs Hawken and Miss Harvey thank everyone involved for their hard work and look forward to working with even more talented students again for the next performance!

Year 8 Concert Band – Term 2 Performance.

During the last week of Term 2 the Year 8 Concert Band performed to an appreciative audience of parents, grandparents, friends and staff. With a repertoire of 8 pieces, the band is displaying great progress.

Some thoughts of the band members:

How do you think the performance went?

- "Really well because I was practicing the night   before so I was confident."

- "We were really good and it was fun."

What was memorable?

-  "Probably the end because I could relax."

- "All of it."

- "That my gran and dad came to watch."

- "'Strike Force' as it’s powerful and the looks on parent faces."

Sydney Dance Company visit

In the last week of term 2, PRSC was lucky enough to have the Sydney Dance Company come in for a whole day! Two members of the company - Cloudia & Kate ran two workshops with our students throughout the day, working on both contemporary dance technique and choreography/composition skills. Some lucky Year 10, VCE and the school aerobics team attended. A wonderful time was had by all!
