Student Leadership

Melbourne Leadership Conference

A couple of weeks ago on the 22nd of February I, along with the other Junior and Senior school leaders attended the Melbourne Leadership conference. It was an amazing day that started with a train ride into the city and a nice walk through the city streets. A litter later we headed into the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition centre and waited for the conference to start, we were greeted with a fun and cheerful atmosphere which brightened up the whole theatre. The day consisted of many different speakers talking about different aspects of leading. A lot of the speakers talked about personal experiences that helped to shape them into who they were and gave us many opportunities to ask questions and share our opinions. Overall, the day was so much fun, I got to meet so many new people and learnt a lot about leading.

Recently, part of the leadership team attended the Melbourne Secondary Youth Leadership Conference at the Melbourne convention centre. The occasion was an amazing opportunity for young people like myself to develop leadership skills and gain valuable insights from successful entrepreneurs. The day was action-packed, with internationally-recognised speakers and fun activities that helped us build our skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, and coaching. I really enjoyed the day as I got to meet so many young leaders in my year from all across the state, leaving with many newfound friends. Run by youth, for youth, the conference was really engaging, inspiring and empowering. I would definitely encourage more students to join the leadership team for experiences like this, because this was an amazing opportunity.
