Year 9 Chemistry
Year 9 students observing the different coloured light emitted from various metal ions. Here the students learnt that different metal ions produce different flame colours. With this understanding, students will be able to identify specific metal ions, simply by observing the coloured light emitted. In these images, the bright red flame was Strontium Chloride, the pink flame was Potassium Chloride and the green flame was Cobalt Chloride.
Well done 9D on conducting this practical is an efficient and safe manner!
Year 7 Mixtures
In Term 1, Year 7 has learnt about the different types of mixtures and how to separate them. This investigation looked at the separation technique for solutions - evaporation!
Students observed the solvent evaporate to leave behind the solute, salt crystals!

Year 12 Physics Lunar Park Excursion
The Year 12 Physics students had an exciting day out at Luna Park on Thursday, March 9th. This event was specifically designed by teachers to provide students with practical examples of concepts covered in Unit 3 of the VCE Physics Study Design, such as motion in one and two dimensions and how fast things can go. It was an excellent opportunity for students to see real-life applications of what they had been learning in the classroom.
