Positive Behaviours for Learning

At SFS, our school expectations are:

Respect

Responsibility and

Kindness

This week we have continued to focus on the expectation of RESPONSILBILITY in OUTDOOR SPACES and think before you act.

We will also from next week start to give out the postcard acknowledgement cards. Your child may bring home an acknowledgement card if a teacher sees a child showing our key values of Respect, responsibility and kindness. We will particularly focus on our school expected behaviour for the week that is the focus of our PBL lesson. If your child brings home an acknowledgment card, have a chat about why your child has received the card and sign the card. The card then comes back to school and will go into a raffle box.

Every Friday, one Junior and one Senior student’s name from each learning space will be drawn out. That child will get to choose from coming on Monday in casual clothes or they will get 15 minutes of free time on Monday afternoon.

TWILIGHT COMMUNITY MARKET

I am very excited to let you all know that our annual Twilight community market for 2023 will be happening this year on Thursday 9th November 2023 from 5pm to 8pm

I have already booked a variety of different stalls and food trucks. If you have a small business you would like to promote or know of anyone who would like to have a stall, please contact me at rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au or you can collect an expression of interest form from the front office and return it to school.

Please put the date in your diary and tell all your family and friends. Let’s make this years market the biggest and best ever. The cost of a stall is 20 dollars with money going towards our school community garden. If you have any questions about the market, feel free to contact me.

Action for Happiness calendar

For the month of May, the Action for Happiness calendar is called Meaningful May. Here is the calendar with some suggested activities to create some Mindfulness in each day.

I will continue to run the Seasons for Growth program for helping young children deal with experiences of loss and change. I am currently running a group with some Year 5 and 6 children.

This term, I will start working with a group of children in Years 3 and 4 and will look at running a group for students in Years 1 and 2 later in the year. If this is something you think your child would benefit from or you would like some further information, please contact me at school.

I hope that everyone had a lovely Easter holiday break. I look forward to working with the children and school families in Term 2.

If you have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at rlenko@sfslynbrook.catholic.edu.au
