Year 3 Immigration Museum Excursion

Year 3 Immigration Museum Excursion

This term in Year 3, we have been exploring the Inquiry topic of ‘What is my story?’. Students have been learning about the importance of celebrating one another’s culture, history and the aspects that form one’s story. As a part of this unit the Year 3 students attended an excursion to the Immigration Museum on Friday the 17th of March to support their learning.

Students were able to participate in The Victorian Stories discovery trail which was a self-guided program with galleries such as ‘Leaving Home’ and ‘Immigration Stories and Timelines’. The Year 3 students enjoyed walking around looking and listening to the various stories about how and why people migrated to Australia. There were also a range of different artefacts that students observed.

We enjoyed a snack and run around at Enterprise Park in the beautiful sun. It was a fantastic day and students really enjoyed it. We are so proud of how amazing the students were at the excursion. They proudly displayed our school values and proved the Greenvale kids are great kids! All the students should be very proud of themselves!
