From the Head of Sport

Welcome back to Term 2 and the start of winter sport. I am looking forward to a great season in all our sports including the opportunity to play both Rugby and Hockey at home this year now that our fields have dried out.
Please ensure that you have all your protective gear as well as your BMGS playing gear ready for this weekend. Non-BMGS clothing is not to be worn to either home or away games.
Congratulations - Netball
Over the holidays Olivia Harris (Year 12) competed at the 17/U National Netball Championships in Darwin. Olivia’s team were successful in making the grand finals of the championships, going down 42-40 to Queensland. Olivia was successful in being selected as a member of the Australian 17/U Aetball squad for 2023. This was a fitting reward for all the effort that Olivia has put into perfecting her game play. Well done, Olivia, and all the very best for your future competitions.
Congratulations - Triathlon
During the holidays Casper Larkin (Year 12) travelled with the NSW team to compete at the Australian Junior Triathlon Championships in Port Adelaide. The race was also the qualification race for the World Triathlon Championships and the Junior Commonwealth Games. The race is a sprint distance, 750m Swim, 20km bike and 5km run. The course was the most challenging that Casper has ever raced with multiple hills per lap and over 30 U turns on the bike course.
In the U20 race Casper placed 17th, which was 6th in the 17 years age group. Another outstanding achievement from Casper. Well done!
