Centenarian Project

Last year, six senior art students elected to be part of the Centenarian Project. The Centenarian Project is a socially driven arts project run by Embraced and is aimed at connecting teenage artists with centenarians. Students are each allocated a senior citizen to build and foster a relationship with. Students purposefully connect with them with the hopes to reminisce and share stories to better understand who they are and to capture their personalities, demeanor and lives within portrait. Approximately 908 participants (both teenagers and centenarians) have taken part in this project Australia wide over multiple years, and is soon set to culminate with a National Finale Exhibition to be held in Canberra next month. A selection of portraits from each state will form a one of a kind exhibition to mark the close of this project. We're both proud and excited to announce, 2022 old scholar Lisa Ly's centenarian portrait has not only been selected to feature at the National Finale Exhibition in Canberra next month but has also been handpicked as the promotional artwork to advertise the event.

What an honour and an outstanding achievement!

Well done to Lisa and all others who participated in such a tremendous age positive initiative.

SACSA Athletics

Tuesday 11th April saw Endeavour’s athletes compete against other Christian independent schools at the SA Athletics Stadium for the SACSA Athletics Event. Students were chosen based on their successful efforts at our Athletics Carnival on March 20. Many students displayed great skill and sportsmanship in their athletics events as well as perseverance to compete in the wind and the rain.

Notable efforts included Ruby Hartwig running her 800m leaving her competition behind and breaking a SACSA record setting a time of 2 minutes and 35 seconds.

Sienna Loveday finished in the top 3 in all 5 of her events including first in Javelin, and Thomas Harding blitzed his 100m event, running a time of 12.4 seconds!

Special thanks to all students helping out on the Triple Jump and Shot Put events. Not only did students compete in their own events, they were more than happy to help out and contribute to the day. Also, a big thanks to our supervising teachers for the day Mrs Fitridge, Mr Lane, Mr Charlton and Miss Lange.
