Mrs Anna Nasr

In Our Prayers

We pray for any in our community suffering in seen and unseen ways.

We pray for the repose of the soul of:

  • Staff Member Donald Brown’s sister who has passed away.

Mary, Our Good Mother, Pray for us.

St Marcellin Champagnat, Pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, Pray for us.

And may we always remember   To pray for one another

May our loving God, with Mary and Champagnat, walk with all members of the Marist family. Amen

Catholic Man’s Breakfast

Senior student leaders joined with other Catholic Colleges to attend the Catholic Man’s Breakfast Series run by the MenAlive Group and hosted by the Episcopal Offices.

We were delighted to hear from Mr Mark Lysaght’s Executive Director of Net Ministries Australia.  Mark Lysaght's sharing was inspirational, and a reminder that God call's is for all of us to "See, I do something New Again"

Ashgrove Meals on Wheels (AMOW)

What is Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels provides ‘more than just a meal’.

The charity organisation and their army of dedicated, friendly volunteers provide tasty and nutritious meals plus critical social connection to the aged and most vulnerable in our community.

Meals on Wheels provides an invaluable service in our local Ashgrove community, Australia-wide and indeed around the world. In Queensland alone, there are over 7,000 volunteers running 144 Services (branches) in all corners of the state and delivering over 2.6 million meals each year.  As well as providing nutritious meals, the regular social interaction between volunteers and clients assists with the loneliness epidemic within our elderly community especially.

Supporting Meals on Wheels, and our boys perhaps volunteering with them now or at some stage in their future, fits well with our Marist theme of Created and Called - a revolution of love and tenderness.

It’s all about community service, care & respect for our elderly, and always striving to be ‘men for others’.

AMOW 50th Anniversary Community Day

2023 is also a very special year for AMOW as they are celebrating their 50-year Anniversary of local operations.

The occasion will be celebrated with an open Community Day commencing at 10:30am on Sunday 21 May and will include stalls, entertainment and sausage sizzle.

AMOW warmly welcomes all members of the College community to the Community Day, including families and friends.  All event details including the address can be found on their website:  www.ashgrovemealsonwheels.org.au

Game Changers

Game Changers is a comprehensive Catholic youth ministry program for students in Marist Schools from Years 7-12. It is designed to be an ongoing leadership and mentoring program for Marist students.

It seeks to form Christian leaders by making Jesus Christ known and loved among them – the Mission of the Marist institute and of this College.

It involves regular meetings; faith formation experiences and service opportunities and students are invited to become game changers through their participation in the group.

Game Changers is grounded in a series of tracks, each with their own stories, symbols and activities.

Through their participation in each track, the students come to a deeper appreciation of what and who shapes our Christian identity and Marist spirituality.

Each track is led by a Mentor (member of staff). Each track lasts two years.

Groups will meet regularly during Break times beginning Term 2.

Years 7 and 8 Monday First break in Room 801

Years 9 and 10 Wednesday First break in Room 801

Years 11 and 12 Thursday First break in Room 801
