Supporting our Student Entrepreneurs!

I’m Michael and I’m the brand owner of Maisy Kanx. I’m a student at Beaumaris Secondary College completing Year 12 this year.

Starting off with selling vintage/second hand pieces, I’ve been creating clothes since I was 16. My very first piece for Maisy Kanx was created utilising a silk screen given to me by a teacher during Year 9 Art, which sparked my curiosity and love for printmaking.

I specialise in upcycling and have created various pieces which I have also sold at markets and online even completing commissions. I’ve been inspired by school in numerous ways such as by researching art movements like Bauhaus in VCE Visual Communication Design and Studio Art.

Exploring subject matter in Art Making and Exhibiting has influenced the pieces I’ve dropped during time periods, utilising my love for media to create unique designs that reflect my current creative mindset. Right now, my focus is on the next collection which should be coming in the upcoming months to be sold both online and at Camberwell Market to stay up to date with releases you can follow the brands Instagram @maisykanxclothing.
