College Captains' Report

Hello everyone, I’m Edie W, the Year 11 captain. I would like to start off by congratulating everyone on completing their first two weeks of Term 2!

In these two weeks, so much has happened and there is so much to look forward to going into the term.

Over the holidays some of our school captains attended an ANZAC ceremony where they participated in walk through Beaumaris and laid a wreath in remembrance.

We had our beautiful ANZAC ceremony at the college where we heard from Clarke Martin who told us an inspiring story about his father during World War 2 and the bravery he displayed throughout and how when he returned home, he did as much as he could for the Beaumaris community and started the Beaumaris Football Club.

The students who got through to States swam at MSAC on Friday last week, with some incredible results, particularly Kiara M who received 4 Gold Medals and the girls in the 200m freestyle relay who came third. Well done all!

We also have our Parent/Teacher/Student conferences so I would like to wish each student good luck on behalf of all the school captains.

This term we also have exams throughout Year 9,10, 11 and some Year 12 classes. I encourage each student to take this opportunity to learn what works best for you in the few weeks leading to exams, whether that be revising, taking notes, going to a teacher for help or studying at the library, individually and with friends. For Year 9s and 10s, these exams will help prepare you for your SACs and exams in Year 11 and 12.

Thank you and good luck for the rest of the term.

Edie W
