ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and THANK YOUS

  • Thank you to all parents who made the time to vote in the first School Council Parent election that has taken place in over 22 years.  We hope that the Parents that missed out on a spot this year will consider renominating again in 2024 and they are welcome to attend as guests in 2023 (as are any of our parent/guardian community).
  • I would like to acknowledge and thank all School Councilors for their valued contributions throughout 2022 - Christian (Executive Officer), Angela (Vice President), Brock (Treasurer), Amy, Laura, Jordan, Greg, Georgina, Roseda, Jessica, Gareth, Matt and Allison. They have each provided beneficial input at both subcommittee meetings and School Council meetings. And they continue to support the Principal team in providing the best possible educational outcomes for students and consistently assist in the efficient governance of the school.
  • Welcome and congratulations to the parent members that were elected by our community - Angela, Roseda, Georgina and Matt Cook. I acknowledge and thank Brock and Allison as they have concluded their terms on Council. I also welcome Matt Cook and Christian Hesse as new councilors this year.
  • Thank you to Christian Holdsworth for the ongoing constructive and collaborative partnership with myself as President, with Council, and with the School Community. You have continued to cultivate a welcoming School Council at CHPS where councillors can utilise their skills to meet the functions and objectives we set out to achieve each year. You also encourage an open forum where ideas are shared, and feedback is encouraged.
  • Thanks to Angela Stevens, Business Manager, for volunteering your time to support and participate in our School Council.  Angela provides the Finance Committee with numerous detailed financial reports each month and maintains administrative aspects for Council; and we are grateful for her role as Minute and Correspondence Secretary.
  • Thank you to the School Captains who have attended our meetings so far this year. We enjoy hearing from many student leaders throughout the year. Well done to all School Captains, Senior Leaders and JSC members for acquiring these leadership roles in 2023.
  • I would like to thank all CHAPS members for raising significant funds for the school in 2022 and for providing fun, family events for students and the school community to engage in. Our students really benefit from your concerted efforts. Your plans for 2023 are looking excellent and there is a lot to look forward to. Thank you also to MOTHS for hosting events for students and fathers in 2022. Both of these groups continue to run with passionate and dedicated volunteers and we can’t thank you enough.
  • The CHAPS Facebook page remains an indispensable component of our school’s communication channels and a huge thanks must go Nikky Edwards for managing the content and parent queries on this platform. Thanks to the parents who manage the year level Facebook pages also. We would be lost without you!
  • THANK YOU to School Council for the opportunity to continue as President in 2023. We achieved a lot and had a successful year in 2022 and the plans for 2023 are looking solid.
