Extra-Curricular Music

On Saturday 25 March, the Primary Year 5 and Year 6 Rock Bands journeyed to Deniliquin to participate in the annual ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition held at St Michael’s Primary School. The event was an exciting opportunity for the students to showcase their musical talents and compete with four other bands from St Michael’s Primary School.

Under the expert guidance of Shane McGrath, our talented students prepared two items each to perform at the competition. Our Year 5 Rock Band delivered an electrifying mash-up of ‘Thunderstruck’ and ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’, along with an outstanding performance of ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’. Then, our Year 6 Rock Band wowed the audiences with their impressive renditions of ‘When it Rains it Pours’ and ‘Ex’s and Oh’s’.

We are incredibly proud to share that the Year 5 Rock Band emerged as the winners of the ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition! Congratulations to all the students who participated and made our school proud.
