From the Principal's Desk

Welcome Back

Welcome back to Term 3. Hopefully everyone has had a chance to relax and enjoy the school holidays. There are many exciting events planned for the term so keep an eye on the newsletter and the calendar for regular updates.

We have welcomed Miss Sarah Bruce to Corpus Christi as she begins teaching in our Year 3/4 Learning Community. We have also welcomed back Mrs Danielle Camerota who will teach Literature classes to our Prep to  Year 4 classes on Wednesdays and she will also teach Year 5/6M on Fridays.

We trust that you spent some time exploring your child's report and portfolio and celebrating the achievements of Semester One. Please keep the reports but return the portfolios to your child's teacher by the end of  next week.

Thank You from Mr Hyde and Family

During the holidays Mr Hyde and his family received the very generous donation from our Black and White Day and they enjoyed our version of the Magpies song! Here is a thank you message from Mr Hyde:

" What can I say, speechless!

I didn't snoop... had no idea until I saw the newsletter link and then went through my emails. Absolutely blown away with everything. Still don't know what to say. Would love to come in and thank everyone in person but just not ready for that at this stage. So can you please pass on our eternal gratitude to everyone.

Once again it certainly was a surprise. And I still don't quite know what to say... other than maybe we should change our uniform to black and white!"

And from Mrs Hyde:

"This made my day; my feelings have been so overwhelmed by these gorgeous kiddies and all the beautiful staff at CCK. I don't really know what to say other than thank you from the bottom of our hearts!"

Please keep Mr Hyde in your prayers as he continues his treatment and recovery. He is very grateful for all the support he is receiving.

It's a Girl!

This morning Mrs Chloe Sirca gave birth to her beautiful baby daughter, Penelope Eve. Congratulations to Chloe and her husband Adam. We can't wait to welcome little Penelope into our Corpus Christi family!

Prep 2019

Over the next two weeks I will have the pleasure of meeting all our new Prep children, and their families, for 2019 which is always an exciting time for all involved.

I remind families to ensure they have made an application should they have a child commencing next year. If families know of others who have yet to lodge an enrolment form I ask that you remind them to do so as soon as possible.

PFA Meeting

Our next PFA meeting is scheduled for  Tuesday July 24th at 7:00 pm. The focus of the meeting is to organise the planned events for this term.  All parents are welcome.

Wrapper Free Lunches

We remind families that Corpus Christi School has a policy of wrapper free lunches, an initiative developed by the students themselves. All wrappers and fruit peelings brought to school need to be placed back in the child's lunch box to take home.

Building Program

As you will have noticed the building site is being set up! Demolition work inside the Library and Italian room in scheduled to  commence next week.

School Closure Day Term 3

On Thursday August 9th there will be a school closure day as staff undertake a Professional Development day. Children will not attend school on that day.

Have a wonderful week.

God bless
