Principal's Report

Japanese Festival Day

The Japanese Festival Day has been an important part of the annual calendar for a number of years, but last week’s event was bigger and better than those held previously.  We were treated to a fun and engaging assembly and then the students were able to participate in fun activities all day.  Narelle Sullivan did an amazing job planning and coordinating the entire day and the ladies in the canteen did a brilliant job giving everyone a taste of Japanese food.

WAKAKIRRI

Yesterday I was lucky enough to accompany our Wakakirri Team to Bendigo where they performed at the Ulumbarra Theatre.  The kids did a great job of managing tight dressing room spaces and quite of bit of make up work and costuming that needed to happen.

When the time came to perform they did brilliantly.  There will be a few tired souls this morning, as the bus didn’t make it back to Buninyong until after 11pm.

The Bendigo event was one of a number happening in regional centres and in time we find out whether or not our performance has made it through to the Wakakirri state final in Melbourne…fingers crossed.

We all thank Liz Morgan for the massive amount of work she has put into this performance, providing our students with an experience they will remember for a long time.  Thanks also to Mr Skillbeck who has helped out along the way.

School Concert

For those who like to enter dates into their diaries, we can tell you that Founders Hall has been booked for August 19, 20 and 21 for next year.  As always, we’ll get a Concert Team together early next year to come up with a theme and start planning the big event.
