GRADE 2 

Science Day

  • We studied if the sun is a source of light and what is transparent, translucent and opaque.” Harrison L
  • “Our first rotation was with Mrs Eddy and we explored chemical science, to see how objects and materials change.” Isaac C
  • “Everyone had cool clothes. It was amazing as Mrs Eddy dressed up as a school bus and Miss Nankivell dressed up as Miss Frizzle!” Ruby F
  • “Finally we went to Miss Scott and she taught us about rocket balloons and air.” Makenzie
  • “On Wednesday, it was Science Day for all of the Grade Twos. Our Science Day was really fun. We went into every Grade Two class. This term we are learning about science. Most of us dressed up as scientists!” Celeste
  • On Science day we made gas with bicarb soda and vinegar…I went to Miss Nankivell and we did a light and sound puppet show. I enjoyed dressing up as a scientist. Mia C
  • We did some science rotations. First we went to Miss Scott’s and we had string and then sticky tape then we blew up a balloon and attached it to the string and it went right down the string. It was so cool everyone went underneath it when it went across. I loved all of the rotations because they were about science. Grace

Japanese Day

  • “After assembly, we made some head bands. I wrote a Japanese symbol which meant Japan. We also made a fan. We made Kokeshi doll in the other classroom.” Phoenix
  • “After lunch we watched a performance. It was funny. It was about Peach Boy. In Japanese it’s called Momotaro. The lady was very crazy. I loved how funny it was. There was a demon and he was very very fat. Momotaro was a hero and defeated the demon.” Callum
  • “On Friday it was Japanese day. I dressed up and I looked pretty as I had makeup on.” Matilda A
  • “I dressed up as a Japanese person. We made kokeshi dolls and then we watched a performance of the Peach Boy.” Bianca
  • “The Yokai dance was hilarious! I felt a little bit embarrassed at first but when I realised that everyone was doing it, I felt better. It was so funny!” Hannah S
  • “We made head bands in Miss Scott’s room. We got to write with textas. The first time we practised on paper. Then we moved on to material. We got to write a Japanese word. I wrote ninja because I was a ninga.” Raff P

  • On Friday afternoon the grade 2-3’s went to the bowling club to watch the Momataro play. The lady in the story dressed up as an ogre and an old lady. River
