Where the Red Fern Grows

What a great read this book has been for S37.  We have felt like we have travelled through the mountains with Billy and his two dogs.  We have felt tremendous happiness and sorrow while reading this book over the last few months.  Not only were we emotionally invested in this book, but we have also used this to enhance our skills to have a deeper understanding of characters.

I really like where the Red Fern Grows because it’s exciting and you want to know what happens next.  It is an amazing book and you should definitely read it.  I give it five stars. (Ella)

Big Dan and Little Ann are brave puppies.  Little Ann is the smart one and Old Dan is the ‘I want it now,  just to get out there’ but he also doesn’t think about it.  I give it a 10 star rating out of 10 maybe 100 out of 10. (Caleb)
